Background information

The Centre for Reforms, Innovation, Health Policies and Implementation Research (CeRIHI) is an independent Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established in 2020 and registered in Tanzania with the mission to address public health priority challenges, promote quality of health care delivery and strengthened health system in Tanzania through policy reforms, innovations, capacity building, implementation research and knowledge translation for informed public health policy and actions. CeRIHI evolved from a consortium of researchers and public health specialist from research and academic institutions, government institutions (such as the ministries and agencies ) and the private sector including NGO’s. This relationship began more than 20 years ago but developed strong ties in the past 7 years through research work, training and joint publications that have influenced policy decision in the country.

CeRIHI as a think tank organization, aims to generate knowledge , promote knowledge use in policy and practice and support implementation of evidence based health systems interventions towards Universal Health coverage. The organization works towards promoting e-health and data management information systems use at the national and subnational level. This provides a framework for evidence based programs envisioned to set the agenda of data use for health solutions in Tanzania. CeRIHI also aims to foster partnerships in research and health service delivery with MoHCDGEC, PO-RALG, Prime Minister Office via One Health, Research and Academic Institutions in Tanzania and beyond. The goal is to improve knowledge generation, management and capacity building in all levels while realizing the vision to became an innovation hub for sustainable public health care and service delivery solutions.
